Quantitative Impact (2016-2026)

St. Martin CBO has achieved significant quantitative impact across its program areas. In Education and Youth Development, 2,847 children have been supported through scholarships with a 94% completion rate, 8 classroom blocks have been constructed, improving learning environments for over 3,200 students, over 450 youth are trained in leadership and life skills annually, and 85% of vocational training graduates have secured employment or started businesses. For Women's Empowerment, 2,340 women are active in savings and credit groups, $385,000 has been disbursed in microloans with a 97% repayment rate, over 3,200 women have been trained in climatesmart agriculture, and program participants have experienced a 65% increase in average household income. In Health and Nutrition, 120 community health volunteers have been trained and are active, 35 water points constructed serve over 28,000 community members, 2,800+ pregnant mothers receive prenatal care support, and there has been a 40% reduction in waterborne diseases in intervention areas. For Emergency Response, 8,500 households were reached during the 2017 drought emergency, 25,000 people benefited from COVID-19 response interventions, 25 villages are equipped with early warning systems, and 180 community disaster response volunteers have been trained.

Qualitative Impact and Recognition

St. Martin CBO's work has facilitated profound Community Transformation Stories. Peacebuilding and youth empowerment initiatives in Sondu Area, formerly known for frequent conflicts, have resulted in a 70% decrease in community disputes. Women who were once economically dependent have become community leaders and business owners, challenging traditional gender roles and inspiring others. The organization has received numerous Awards and Recognition, including the 2019 Kenya National Council of NGOs Excellence Award for Community Development, the 2021 UN Women Recognition for Women's Economic Empowerment Programming, the 2023 Government of Kenya Certificate of Commendation for Emergency Response, and the 2024 Faith-Based Organizations Network Outstanding Service Award. External Evaluations conducted by Maseno University (2020) and the Institute for Development Studies (2023) consistently rated St. Martin CBO's programs as highly effective, particularly in community ownership, sustainable interventions, and combining faithbased and evidence-based methods.

Founded on Christian principles of love, compassion, and service, the organization has been at the forefront of empowering vulnerable populations, particularly children, youth, and women, in Homabay, Kisumu, Migori, Siaya, Kisii, and Nyamira Counties.
